Adelaide/Churchill

About This Neighbourhood

In the 1990s, the Adelaide and Churchill neighborhoods merged to form the unified community now known as Adelaide/Churchill, boasting a population of nearly 3,700 residents. The area has a rich history, with most residences built between 1946 and 1970, experiencing further development in the 1980s. Homes in this neighborhood have an average sale price of just over $355,000. Adelaide/Churchill underwent significant annexation by the city between 1910 and 1969, resulting in a mix of urban planning principles in its street layout. The northern section follows a traditional grid pattern, while the southern part features curved residential streets leading to collector roads. Initially, avenues were numbered but transitioned to named avenues after 1954 due to confusion, a naming convention that remains today.
